Maliban Biscuits (මැලිබන් බිස්කට් සමාගම)

අඟුලුගහ ගමගේ හින්නි අප්පුහාමි  විසින් 1954 දී ගොඩ නගන ලද ව්‍යාපාරය මුලින්ම ස්ථාන ගත වෙන්නේ පිටකොටුවේ මැලිබන් වීදියෙයි. එයට පෙර ඔහු 1935 දී මැලිබන් හෝටලය ලෙස  සිය ව්‍යාපාර කරගෙන යනවා. තමන්ගේ දෙවැනි හෝටලය ලෙස පළමුවෙනි හරස් වීදියේ හෝටලයක් ආරම්භ කරන හින්නි අප්පුහාමි මහතා ඉන්පසුව තවත් හෝටලයක් නොරිස් පාරේ විවෘත කරනවා.
සිය සහෝදරයින් වෙන වික්‍රමපාල සහ ජිනදාස හට තම ව්‍යාපාර වෙතට එක්වන ලෙස ආරාධනා කරන හින්නි අප්පුහාමි මහතා පිලිවෙලින් බේකරියක්, බිස්කට් නිෂ්පාදනාගාරයක් සහ අයිස්ක්‍රීම් නිෂ්පාදනාගාරයක්ද පිහිටුවනු ලබනවා.

ඔවුන් පුර්ණ කාලීනව බිස්කට් ව්‍යාපාරයට අවතීර්ණ වෙන්නේ දෙවෙනි ලෝක මහා යුද්ධයෙන් කලකට පසුව 1954 දී බේකර් පර්කින්ස් සමාගමේ නිෂ්පාදනාගාරයක් මිලදී ගත්තාට පසුවයි.

කොතරම් ව්‍යාපාර දියුණුවට පත් වුනත්, නිතරම තමන්ගේ නිෂ්පාදන වල තත්වයේ උසස් බව ගැන හින්නි අප්පුහාමි මුදලාලි මහත්මා සිතුවා, අන්න ඒ නිසයි, ඔහු තමන්ගේ සමාගම නිෂ්පාදනය කරන බිස්කට් පාරිභෝගිකයින් වෙත ලබා දෙන්නට පෙර ඒවා තමන්ගේ පවුලේ කෙනෙකු අනිවා රස බැලිය යුතු බවට ප්‍රකාශයක් කලේ. ඔහු ඒ තරමට නිෂ්පාදන වල ගුණාත්මක බව ගැන සැලකිල්ලක් දැක්වුවා.

වර්තමානයේ 1250කට අධික සේවකයින් සංඛ්‍යාවක් සේවය කරන මැලිබන් ව්‍යාපාරයේ වසරකට බිස්කට් පැක් මිලියන 25කට අධික ගණනක් නිෂ්පාදනය කරන අතර රටවල් 35කට අපනයනය කරනු ලබනවා.
